Key answer: ****Reclaim.ai** has a real free tier and it defends your focus time without redesigning your life. ****Saner.ai** is for scattered brains that need notes, tasks and calendar in one place. ****Morgen** is for people who want AI suggestions they get to approve first. ****Motion** is for people who want the machine to just decide.

## Quick comparison table

## How I tested these calendar

Same rule as everything else on this site: nothing gets a writeup off a pricing page. Here's what actually happened before I wrote a word.

- **Real calendar, not a demo one.** I connected each tool to my actual Google Calendar, the one with client calls, dentist appointments and the recurring meeting I still haven't figured out how to decline.
- **Two weeks minimum per tool, run back to back, not overlapping.** Running two calendar assistants on the same calendar at once is how you get double-booked and blame the wrong app.
- **One deliberately bad week folded into the two.** A day with a last-minute client emergency, a day where I ignored my phone until noon, a day with three meetings added after the "plan" was already set
- **The same five things, scored the same way every time, per my** [**How I Test**](https://aiproductivityreview.com/editorial-policy/) **page:**
  - Setup and onboarding. Minutes from signup to the tool actually touching my real calendar, and how much of that time was me fighting settings instead of using the thing.
  - Survives a bad day. Did it hold up when my week fell apart, or did it need a calm, cooperative version of me to function at all.
  - Output quality. Specifically for calendar tools: did it put things at times I'd have picked myself, or did I spend more time moving its suggestions than I would have spent scheduling manually.
  - Price versus what you get. Not the advertised price. The price after credits, overages and whichever billing toggle you didn't notice.
  - What happens when it breaks. A missed sync, a double-booking, a habit block it placed at 11pm. How the tool recovered, and whether support was a human or a wall.
- **I did not test group or team scheduling.** This roundup is about your own calendar, not coordinating six people's availability. That's a different post.

## 1\. [Reclaim.ai](https://reclaim.ai/?ref=aiproductivityreview.com)

**Best for:** most people, and the only one here with a free tier worth using.

Reclaim is a layer that sits on your Google Calendar or Outlook and automatically schedules the things that never get scheduled: your habits, your focus blocks, your recurring "I will definitely go to the gym" ambitions. When a meeting lands on top of one, it moves the block instead of deleting it.

- **Free plan exists** and covers the basics. Paid starts around $10 a month.
- **Habits are the killer feature.** Not tasks. Habits. "Gym three times a week, mornings preferred, never before 7am" is the kind of instruction it handles well.
- It auto-defends focus time by finding the gaps rather than making you place blocks by hand.
- Owned by Dropbox since August 2024, which is why it was the tool Clockwise pointed its refugees toward.

**Try this today:** set up exactly one habit. Not six. Pick the recurring thing you most reliably skip, give it a window and a frequency, and let Reclaim fight your calendar for it for two weeks.

**Weakness:** the free tier caps smart meetings and habits fast, so if it works for you, you'll be paying within a month. And it's Google Calendar and Outlook only. If you live in Apple Calendar, this isn't your tool.

## 2\. [Motion](https://www.usemotion.com/?ref=aiproductivityreview.com)

**Best for:** people whose real problem is a task list longer than the available hours, who want to stop deciding what to do next.

Motion takes your tasks, their deadlines and priorities, and just builds your day. Meeting appears? It reshuffles everything downstream. You don't approve it. That's either a relief or a nightmare depending on your personality.

- **No permanent free plan.** A 7-day trial that wants a card.
- **Pricing is confusing enough to be a genuine criticism.** Depending on which of the individual-versus-team and monthly-versus-annual combinations you land on, Pro AI lands$49/month.
- **AI credits are metered on top of the subscription.** Pro AI ships with a monthly credit allotment and heavy use triggers overage. Your real cost is not the sticker price.

**Try this today:** dump fifteen real tasks in with honest deadlines, then look at what Motion builds and notice your reaction. If your gut says "no, not then," that's useful information: you want Morgen, not Motion.

**Weakness:** the aggression. Motion moves things without asking, and if you're someone who holds a mental model of your own week, watching it get rearranged overnight is genuinely stressful. It also has no awareness of your email, so a calendar that's driven by inbound requests won't get much smarter.

## 3\. Morgen

**Best for:** people who want AI help with planning but want the final say.

Morgen is the human-in-the-loop option. It pulls together calendars from Google, Outlook, iCloud, Fastmail and Zoho, plus tasks from eight tools including Notion, Todoist, Linear, Apple Reminders and Obsidian, then drafts a plan for your day. You review it. Nothing lands on your real calendar until you say yes.

- **$15 a month billed annually, $30 monthly.** Flat pricing with no AI credit meter, which after Motion feels like a small act of kindness.
- Runs natively on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android and web, which is unusual.
- Built by Morgen AG in Switzerland.
- Routines sit directly on your calendar for fixed things like a shutdown ritual or a workout.

**Try this today:** connect one calendar and one task tool, then run the AI Planner on tomorrow. Reject its first draft on purpose and see what it does with the correction.

**Weakness:** approval is friction, and friction is the thing that kills daily habits. If you won't actually open it every morning, the human-in-the-loop model gives you nothing. Also: a lot of the comparison content ranking for these keywords is published on Morgen's own blog, which ranks Morgen first every time. Weigh that accordingly. I would.

## 4\. [Saner.ai](https://saner.ai/?ref=aiproductivityreview.com)

**Best for:** ADHD brains, and people whose calendar problem is actually a "my commitments live in six places" problem.

Saner is not a calendar app with AI bolted on. It's a single workspace holding notes, tasks, email and calendar, with an assistant called Skai that captures and prioritises across all of it. The calendar connected to the AI, notes and the inbox

- Proactive morning plan is the feature that shows up most in user reviews.
- You can just chat with AI to manage your calendar

![You can just chat with Saner AI to manage your calendar](https://storage.ghost.io/c/aa/79/aa79e362-a32f-472f-a897-041cbc55ef64/content/images/2026/09/Calendar-1.png)

- Built by a team that includes a co-founder with ADHD, which is the origin story rather than the marketing angle.
- **Free plan** with 30 AI messages a month, 100 notes and 100MB storage.
- **Starter $8 a month, Standard $16**, on annual billing.

**Try this today:** braindump. Type everything on your mind into one box in no order at all, then let it turn that into scheduled tasks. If your problem is that planning requires you to already be organised, this is the flow that breaks that loop.

**Weakness:** it's single-player and it's young.

## How to pick your AI calendar, in a minute

- **You skip your own commitments.** → Reclaim. Habit defence is the specific thing it's best at.
- **You have more tasks than hours and you're tired of deciding.** → Motion.
- **Your notes, tasks and calendar are in different apps and it's chaos.** → Saner.a
- **You genuinely aren't sure.** → Reclaim or Saner.AI, free tier

## Set it up properly in 30 minutes

1. **Define your working hours honestly.** Not aspirationally. If you're useless after 4pm, say 4pm. Every tool here respects this setting and almost nobody sets it truthfully.
2. **Mark your two peak hours.** Based on when you actually think well, per the chronotype research above. Protect those and give the tool permission to fill everything else.
3. **Start with one category.** Habits, or focus blocks, or tasks. Not all three in week one.
4. **Leave 20% of your day unscheduled.** Every auto-scheduler will fill 100% of your calendar if you let it, and a fully booked calendar has no capacity to absorb a single thing going wrong. Which it will.
5. **Keep your calendar as the source of truth.** Whatever you pick, your real events should live in Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud, not only inside the tool. See the Clockwise section for why I'm being annoying about this.
6. **Review at day 14.** If you're fighting it more than it's helping, cancel. That's data about the tool, not about you.
